Story details

Nigeria’s Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) published October 2026 monthly energy caps for Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Plc on 5 October. The six-page document presents a schedule linked to energy consumed in September and the regulator’s method for setting caps for unmetered customers.

The table gives feeder names, service bands and limits in kilowatt-hours for locations in Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Rivers states. For example, Brooks feeder in Uyo is listed at 390 kWh in band A, while Igbo Etche feeder in Rivers is listed at 792 kWh in band B.

These are not measured consumption totals for all customers. They are monthly feeder- and band-level caps for customers identified as non-maximum-demand, or non-MD, in the document, which frames the schedule around September consumption.

The schedule does not measure national grid generation, outages or energy received by each household. Its application and calculation details are governed by the methodology order cited by NERC, No. NERC/307/2022.
