Story details

Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR said on 9 October that it received a score of 50 out of 100 in S&P Global’s 2026 Corporate Sustainability Assessment. The company said about 12,500 companies took part in the global assessment and that it ranked above 83% of companies assessed in the Oil & Gas Upstream & Integrated industry group.

SOCAR also said it supplied data for more than 95% of the over 1,000 indicators requested. The company described improvements in materiality assessment, human-rights processes, climate strategy, greenhouse-gas reporting and resource reuse compared with the previous assessment.

These figures are SOCAR’s account of its assessment result and disclosures. The announcement gives no emissions total or prior-year score, so the 50-point rating should not be read as a direct measure of physical environmental performance or as a year-on-year comparison.
