The UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) and CCI France UAE co-organised the UAE–France Energy Forum at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, Emirates News Agency reported on 9 October. WAM said government officials, energy industry representatives, experts and other stakeholders from both countries attended to discuss bilateral cooperation and possible opportunities in the sector.
The report described three sessions: renewables, electricity grids, storage and strategic energy infrastructure; nuclear power and innovative low-carbon technologies; and oil-and-gas emissions reduction, carbon capture and storage, operating efficiency and energy security. WAM also reported government-to-government engagements, business-to-business meetings and networking. It did not report signed contracts, committed funding, completed projects or measured emissions cuts.
A Dakhla project with reported estimated investment of EGP 780 million includes a 10,000-feddan plantation, a separate 740-feddan development site and a planned 6.5km water line.
The two governments plan a joint committee meeting in the first quarter of 2027, with renewable energy, industry and electronics among the priority sectors.
The plant-protection authority reported aerial spraying across several Gezira areas, with Rahad next and an additional aircraft planned for western Gezira.
