Jordan ministry reviews local LED lighting production and testing
Jordan’s energy ministry reviewed National Electrical Industries’ LED products and testing, citing about 140,000 units installed under a northern-region programme.
Jordan’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources visited National Electrical Industries on 1 October to review its lighting production lines and locally made units, including the technical characteristics of energy-efficient LED products and the specifications used in their production. The ministry says the factory was established in 1984 and makes lighting units and supplies for lighting projects.
The visit was part of the ministry’s follow-up on a programme replacing lighting units with LEDs, launched through the Rural Electrification Fund in cooperation with the Ministry of Local Administration and municipalities. The ministry said the programme covered Mafraq, Ajloun and Jerash and that about 140,000 lighting units had been installed in the northern region. That is a cumulative programme count; the release gives no monthly factory output or measured energy savings.
ODRÉ’s 10 October data refresh lists September deliveries of 1.800 TWh to chemicals, 1.361 TWh to refining and petrochemicals, 0.800 TWh to metallurgy and 2.032 TWh to centralized power generation.

The municipality says electricity work is scheduled from 15:00 to 17:00 on 13 October for three listed supply locations in Capanna and Vallo, not the entire town.
