SSE marked 70 years since Invergarry Power Station officially opened on 5 October 1956. The station is part of the wider Great Glen Hydro Scheme and was built within a network of hydro-electric stations linked by the Highland Grid, which carries renewable power from remote areas to communities in northern Scotland.
SSE says Invergarry remains an active part of its hydro fleet, but the anniversary notice gives no current capacity or generation figure for the station. The company says the wider Scottish hydro programme built 54 power stations and 78 dams, an account of the programme’s historic scale rather than a measure of Invergarry alone.
ODRÉ’s 10 October data refresh lists September deliveries of 1.800 TWh to chemicals, 1.361 TWh to refining and petrochemicals, 0.800 TWh to metallurgy and 2.032 TWh to centralized power generation.

The municipality says electricity work is scheduled from 15:00 to 17:00 on 13 October for three listed supply locations in Capanna and Vallo, not the entire town.
