Story details
A JD1.4 million solar-lighting project on Jordan’s Amman Development Corridor had installed 75% of its planned units by the time of a ministry inspection on 6 October, Petra reported the next day. The project covers about 42 kilometres and uses standalone LED units powered by solar energy instead of conventional grid-dependent lighting.
The system also includes automated controls, cameras and remote monitoring. Petra said the remaining work was expected to finish within two weeks of the 7 October report. The ministry presented reduced electricity use, operating costs and exposure to theft or damage as intended benefits; the report gave no measured savings or completed-project result.
