Story details
Knight Frank’s Saudi Arabia Construction Landscape Review said on 5 October that projects planned or underway in the Kingdom were valued at US$2.07 trillion in the first half of 2026. The firm allocated US$1.13 trillion to construction and real estate, with the remaining US$940 billion across power, transport, industrial, water, chemical, gas and oil projects. It described these as a pipeline at different stages, rather than completed investment.
The research said reinforcing-steel bar prices rose about 24% from January to July 2026, while iron-binding wire rose 19.6% and aluminium 13.9%. Standard villa construction costs were estimated at SAR 4,100–4,800 per square metre in 2026, compared with SAR 3,800–4,400 in 2025. The figures are the firm’s reported analysis; its release links cost and supply-chain pressures to delivery risks but does not state that every project will be delayed.
