Story details
GOTECH 2026, the Gas & Oil Technology Conference and Exhibition, ran from September 29 through October 1 at Dubai World Trade Centre, according to the official Society of Petroleum Engineers programme. Emirates News Agency reported the conference’s conclusion on October 2. Dragon Oil hosted the event with SPE.
WAM counted more than 2,600 participants representing 1,206 companies from 70 countries, along with 40 exhibitors and 11 sponsors. It said organizers received about 1,300 technical papers, of which 250 were selected for presentation in 52 specialised sessions. These are event-reported participation and programme totals.
Sessions covered artificial intelligence and machine learning alongside well integrity, sustainable well design, water injection, reservoir analysis, carbon-dioxide leakage monitoring and operational optimisation. Examples discussed included digital tools for shutdown planning, geothermal potential assessment, downhole obstruction detection and valve-leak identification.
The reports describe topics and examples presented at the conference, not independently validated field performance or commercial deployment. They give no measured savings, accuracy rates, production uplift or emissions reductions attributable to the technologies; the confirmed scope here is the event schedule, attendance and programme.
