Story details

Jordan’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources held two clean-energy and sustainability workshops for grade 9 and grade 10 students at Sands National Academy, according to a ministry report dated 6 October 2026. Arwa Abu Kashif, from the ministry’s Energy Transition Directorate, delivered the sessions to the academy’s national and international programmes.

The ministry said the workshops covered renewable-energy sources and their types, electric vehicles, energy conservation, and Jordan’s solar- and wind-powered electricity projects. The sessions also discussed individual and community roles in the shift to clean energy. The ministry described its school lecture and workshop series as having run since 2022; the report gave no measured energy savings or new generation capacity from the sessions.
