Story details
Statistics Norway reported on 7 October that seasonally adjusted turnover across extraction, mining, manufacturing and electricity supply rose 3.3% in August from July. The same measure was 25.2% higher than in August 2025.
Within the broad series, turnover for extraction and related services increased 5.8% month on month and 38.1% year on year. These are changes in sales value, not physical production volumes or commodity-price indices.
Unadjusted turnover across the covered industries was NOK 284,779 million. Of this total, NOK 109,908 million was domestic-market turnover and NOK 174,871 million was export-market turnover. The totals are not seasonally adjusted, unlike the percentage comparisons.
The release covers several industries and market destinations. Its August observations describe recorded turnover; the index changes and nominal NOK totals answer different questions and should not be treated as forecasts of later output or revenues.
