Statistics Norway’s updated 2025 crop statistics put Norway’s potato production at 386.5 thousand tonnes. The figures were released on 6 October and cover the calendar-year harvest.
The forage series recorded 3,543.2 thousand tonnes of meadow harvest converted to dry matter. Green fodder and silage production was 172.3 thousand tonnes. These are separate measures and should not be added without regard to their definitions.
The statistics track physical agricultural output, not farm-gate prices or revenue. Dry-matter conversion provides a comparable measure for meadow forage, while the silage figure is reported as a separate production category.
The release is an annual observation for 2025. It does not forecast the next harvest, and aggregate national volumes do not describe yields or conditions on every individual farm. The census and crop series use separate definitions for cultivated land, yield and forage categories.
