Story details
Statistics Norway reported that Norway’s all-industry producer price index reached 166.7 in September, using 2021=100 as its reference. That was 12.4% above August and 48.8% above September 2025. The index measures prices received for domestically produced goods and services; it is not a spot-market quotation.
Energy goods rose 20.4% month over month and 90.1% year over year. Extraction and related services increased 21.2% and 85.5% over the same comparisons. The figures describe index movements across defined producer categories, not uniform changes for every firm.
For oil and natural-gas extraction, domestic-market prices rose 25.5% from August and export-market prices 23.3%. Their annual increases were 84.2% and 94.7%, respectively. Manufacturing prices increased 1.0% monthly and 9.2% annually. Basic metals rose 0.3% monthly and 17.0% annually; domestic electrical-equipment prices fell 2.5% monthly but rose 3.2% annually. These broad categories do not quote specific metals, conductor grades or chip materials.
These are September observations published on 9 October. The high annual movements compare with September 2025 and should not be confused with futures, current cargo prices or a forecast for later months.
