Story details
The Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit annual report covers applications administered for Ministers from April 2025 to March 2026. It says 130 applications were determined during the financial year.
Of those determinations, 126 resulted in consent and four were refused. The report also records 32 consented battery-storage applications, 18 wind farms and 68 overhead-line cases.
These figures describe applications decided by the Unit in the stated reporting year. They are not counts of projects built, operating capacity or total electricity generation.
Published on 6 October, the report provides an administrative snapshot of the consenting workload and outcomes. Some applications may have different project sizes and statuses beyond the determination recorded. The annual totals are case outcomes for that reporting window, not a pipeline count for later years. The reporting year ended in March.
