Story details

SSE’s 1 October trading update said investment in regulated networks was around 70% higher year over year in the half-year to 30 September 2026. The company attributed expected renewables output growth of about 20% to more favourable weather and capacity growth.

Ahead of results scheduled for 18 November, SSE forecast adjusted earnings per share of 64–68 pence for the half-year. It reiterated 2026/27 guidance of 168–193 pence, with the full-year outlook subject to weather, markets and plant availability.

Group capital investment was expected to be around £2.5 billion for the half-year. These are company expectations ahead of its results announcement, not audited figures for the period.

SSE also said turbine installation at Dogger Bank B had passed the halfway point. That offshore project is in the wider UK portfolio and should not be read as a Scotland-only project or as evidence of completed generation.
