Story details
Commercial re-exports through Zarqa totaled JD57,994,297 in September 2026, according to figures from the Zarqa Chamber of Commerce and its free-zone branch reported by Petra on October 1. The reported value was nearly JD58 million, compared with roughly JD38 million in September 2025. These are re-export figures, which concern goods moving through trade channels rather than products necessarily manufactured in Jordan.
The chamber bodies issued 568 certificates of origin during the month. Vehicles and automotive accessories dominated the reported mix, followed by building materials, sanitary ware, pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, food, apparel, jewelry, electronics, furniture and stationery. Petra attributed the figures to official trade data released by the chamber and free-zone branch.
The report links the increase largely to automotive trade but does not break down the value by product, destination or origin. Nor does it state whether the comparison uses constant prices or adjusted exchange values. The certificate count and total value therefore provide a snapshot of the recorded activity, not a measure of domestic production or net export value added.
Because the report covers one month, it should not be treated as a full-year trend or as a national customs total. Petra’s item gives no detailed methodology, and the chamber’s statement does not establish why trade value changed. The figures document a rise in Zarqa’s commercial re-export activity while leaving the underlying commodity-level drivers unquantified.
