Indre-et-Loire order adds water-use restrictions from 11 October
A Truyes municipal notice published on 10 October links a new Indre-et-Loire prefectural order dated 9 October. The order takes effect at midnight on 11 October and applies restrictions at different levels across water zones.
The prefectural order says the Loire reached crisis thresholds and sets water-use restrictions in parts of Indre-et-Loire. It places the whole department at least under vigilance, names several rivers at alert or reinforced alert, and prohibits water uses in specified crisis zones, including the Loire and Indre systems.
The order is effective from 00:00 on 11 October 2026 and abrogates the previous order from 25 September. Truyes’s notice reminds residents that the Indre is among the waters affected. The restrictions do not apply to priority uses such as public drinking-water supply and civil safety.
A Dakhla project with reported estimated investment of EGP 780 million includes a 10,000-feddan plantation, a separate 740-feddan development site and a planned 6.5km water line.
The two governments plan a joint committee meeting in the first quarter of 2027, with renewable energy, industry and electronics among the priority sectors.
The plant-protection authority reported aerial spraying across several Gezira areas, with Rahad next and an additional aircraft planned for western Gezira.
