Story details
Brazil’s National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) reported on 10 October that the Romaria Segura operation, run by concessionaire Motiva RioSP with the Federal Highway Police and other partners, had mobilized more than 1,000 professionals. Its 29 support points comprise 23 along the Via Dutra between Arujá and Aparecida and six on the alternative Rota da Luz route from Mogi das Cruzes.
The points were scheduled to operate around the clock from 9 to 11 October, with water, guidance and safety materials. Motiva RioSP’s planned provision includes 30,000 reflective vests, 120,000 reflective strips, 3,000 bicycle lanterns and 90,000 cups of water, alongside ambulances and rapid-response vehicles. ANTT also checked crossings, signs and assistance points; the release reports no traffic-count, congestion or crash-outcome figures.
