Porto Alegre schedules maintenance at Belém Novo water station
The city’s Dmae plans work on the Belém Novo treatment station and Xavantes pumping station on 15 October, with possible service effects in 20 neighborhoods.
Porto Alegre’s Department of Water and Sewers (Dmae) said on 10 October that preventive maintenance is planned for Thursday, 15 October, at the Belém Novo water treatment station. Work is due to begin at 08:00 on the station’s electrical intake system, while maintenance is also planned at a lifting device at the Xavantes treated-water pumping station, which serves the same system.
The notice says service could experience low pressure or interruptions in the 20 neighborhoods supplied wholly or partly by the Belém Novo system. Dmae expects work to finish at 14:00 and says supply should then normalize gradually, potentially taking until early Friday in higher or more distant areas. This is a forward schedule, not confirmation that the work has occurred.
