Story details

Autolinee Toscane’s 10 October update said a fire at its Viale XI Agosto depot in Florence during the night of 8–9 October involved 19 buses, with 12 twelve-metre urban buses destroyed. The company said it had maintained service the previous day and that buses began operating that morning without particular disruption. It did not state the fire’s cause, which remained under investigation.

The operator said reserve Euro 3 buses helped keep service running, two minibuses had returned after workshop work, and two other vehicles were being repaired for return by Tuesday. It also announced that 297 new buses were scheduled to enter service progressively across Tuscany from November under an existing fleet-renewal plan; they had not yet arrived.
