Story details

Italy’s Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT) said it met StarTech union representatives in Trieste on 10 October, with the president of Friuli-Venezia Giulia present. The company researches, develops and produces electronic components and equipment for telecommunications. The ministry said a transfer project announced in September 2025 had not been implemented.

That earlier proposal envisaged a revival of the site and new activities in photonics, space and defence. MIMIT said the ministry and regional authorities were assessing measures to protect productive assets and workers while seeking an industrial future for the site. The release reported no buyer, investment amount, production target or timetable.
