Egypt and Malaysia plan joint committee on energy and industry
The two governments plan a joint committee meeting in the first quarter of 2027, with renewable energy, industry and electronics among the priority sectors.
Egyptian and Malaysian officials said they plan to convene a joint committee in the first quarter of 2027 to follow up on economic cooperation. The Egyptian Presidency account, published on 10 October, names new and renewable energy, industry, electronics, agriculture and food industries as priority areas.
The statement sets a framework for future coordination, not a project award or financing package. It gives no investment amount, generation capacity, timetable for individual projects or named electronics facility, so the sectors remain areas for discussion rather than confirmed commitments.
