Story details
At 21:30 Portugal local time on 10 October, REN’s Data Hub showed renewable sources supplying 76% of national electricity generation through 20:45. The operator says generation values are provisional estimates based on remote metering and that the series updates every 15 minutes. The percentage is therefore a same-day system snapshot, not a final market settlement. It describes the generation mix and does not mean that renewables supplied the same share of all electricity demand.
The same dashboard forecast daily electricity consumption of 126 GWh and a demand peak of 6,931 MW at 20:15. Those are forecast fields rather than final readings. REN says its forecasts draw on comparable periods and are adjusted for factors including temperature and calendar effects; actual consumption values are also provisional. The figures describe the operator’s view of the 10 October system at the update time, not a longer-term generation mix or a final daily consumption total.
