Story details
ADS-TEC Energy announced on 28 October that the permitting authority had confirmed the completeness of application documents for its proposed battery project at the Pulverdingen substation in Markgröningen, Germany. The company expects a building permit shortly. A complete application is a procedural milestone and does not mean that the permit has already been issued.
The planned installation has approximately one gigawatt of power and four gigawatt-hours of energy storage, corresponding to around four hours at rated output. Power and stored energy are different measures. The battery would shift electricity between periods rather than generate new electricity itself.
Grid connection is targeted for 2029. ADS-TEC is negotiating with investors and strategic partners and intends to sell a majority stake in the project company while retaining an interest and providing technology and services. The building permit is a prerequisite for completing financing and partnership arrangements.
The release cites third-party market revenue benchmarks but explicitly says they are not financial guidance. ADS-TEC’s eventual share of project income would depend on ownership, financing and market conditions. The announcement therefore advances a proposed storage development, while approval, financial close, construction and operating performance remain future milestones.
