The inaugural Alamein Africa Business Forum opened in New Alamein on October 3, bringing business leaders and policymakers together to discuss trade, investment and partnerships between Egyptian and African companies. The State Information Service reported around 1,500 participants from government, business, finance and international institutions.

SIS cited CAPMAS data showing Egypt’s trade with African Union countries at about $9.6 billion in 2025, compared with $9.9 billion in 2024. Egyptian exports to those countries were about $7.6 billion, down from $7.8 billion.
