Story details
Aminex's September 30 annual meeting presentation set out the next steps for Tanzania's Ntorya gas development. It reported that pipelaying and backfilling on the Ntorya–Madimba connection were 95% complete, while connection and metering work continued. That percentage concerns those construction activities, rather than a fully commissioned pipeline.
The revised programme schedules preliminary work on NT-1 in October, including wellhead maintenance and slickline operations, and an NT-2 well test in November. First gas from NT-2 is targeted for December. These are planned milestones; the presentation does not report that testing or commercial production has already begun.
NT-3 drilling is also scheduled to start in December. Land rights for its site and access roads had been secured and civil works had begun. The rig contract was expected in October, while the gas-processing-unit contract was being finalised. NT-3 results would guide subsequent NT-East and NT-West drilling plans, leaving further development dependent on appraisal outcomes.
