Story details

Boss Energy reported on 28 October that Honeymoon produced 359,000 pounds of drummed U₃O₈ during the September quarter, down 1% from the preceding quarter. Ion-exchange production was 337,000 pounds, down 9%. These are separate processing-stage measures and should not be added together as total uranium output.

The company reported C1 costs of A$47 per pound, equivalent to US$33, and all-in sustaining costs of A$79 per pound, equivalent to US$55. Capital expenditure was A$13 million. The average realised sales price was A$117 per pound, or US$82, while cash and liquid assets totalled A$195 million. Each measure has a different operating or financial scope.

Flushing began at EKT1, the first wellfield using the wider-spaced design. Initial performance supported the company’s expectations, but detailed flushing and leaching data are expected during the following quarter. Construction continued at HMT1, EKT2 and EKT3, and the first two stages of water-treatment plant upgrades were under way.

Boss maintained financial-year 2027 production guidance of 1.25–1.30 million pounds of U₃O₈. Its new feasibility study forecasts a longer operating period using the revised in-situ recovery wellfield design. These forecasts and future wellfield start dates are distinct from measured quarterly production; the operating transition still requires monitoring of recovery, solution chemistry and costs.
