Story details

BP Silver announced additional Phase 2 drilling results on 28 October from Jalsuri North at its Cosuño project in Bolivia. Hole CO-0019 returned 10.0 metres containing 183.62 grams per tonne silver and 0.59 grams per tonne gold from 3.0 metres downhole. This included 2.0 metres at 506.50 grams per tonne silver and 1.08 grams per tonne gold.

The same hole returned a 100.0-metre interval grading 1.25% zinc, calculated as 2.49% zinc equivalent. CO-0016 intersected 96 metres at 1.37% zinc, or 1.91% zinc equivalent. Both holes ended in mineralisation, supporting further investigation rather than establishing the system’s final boundaries.

Reported lengths are core intervals, and true widths have not been determined. Metal-equivalent calculations use assumed prices and 90% recovery for all metals. No metallurgical testing has established those recoveries, so equivalent grades must not be interpreted as recoverable metal, sale proceeds or demonstrated economic value.

The company interprets the results as evidence of a polymetallic hydrothermal system with potential extensions at depth. Further drilling is required to determine continuity, scale and economic significance. The new assays provide exploration evidence; they do not declare a mineral reserve or demonstrate a commercially viable mine.
