Brazil’s federal government presented its 2027 budget bill on 31 August, with details published by the Finance Ministry on 1 September. The proposal projects a full primary surplus of R$18.6 billion before statutory exclusions; the adjusted result used for the fiscal target is R$83.4 billion.
The primary-expenditure ceiling is R$2.576 trillion, 7.7% above the 2026 limit. The bill estimates the minimum wage at R$1,741 and allocates R$272.2 billion to health, R$141.2 billion to education and R$133.8 billion to investment.
