Petrobras reported on 2 October another oil-bearing interval in Morpho, well 1-BRSA-1405-APS, offshore Amapá in block FZA-M-59. The reported 2,886 metres is water depth, not the drilled depth of the well.
Drilling continued below the interval announced in August to assess deeper exploration targets. Electrical logs, rock indications and fluid samples identified the additional interval. This is new evidence from the same well, rather than an additional physical well.
Laboratory characterization of the new samples and integration with drilling data remain in progress. Petrobras’s confirmation of good oil quality concerns the August discovery, not the newly reported deeper interval. The release does not establish a production rate or a development decision.
