Value added at China’s industrial enterprises above designated size increased 5.2% in August from a year earlier, the National Bureau of Statistics reported on 16 September. The measure was up 0.54% from July; growth for January-August was 5.3%.
Manufacturing increased 6.1% year over year and utilities output rose 4.9%, while mining fell 1.4%. High-technology manufacturing grew 16.7%. The bureau defines the covered enterprises as industrial legal entities with annual main-business revenue of at least 20 million yuan.
