Story details

Colombia’s Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos issued Circular 024 on September 9, setting technical specifications for daily production reporting through JSON version 3.1. The unified Type U format replaces the previous separation between high-frequency telemetry files and manual or lower-frequency files.

Operational variables use three positions for value, origin and unit. The origin identifies automatic, manual or calculated data. The circular also sets a six-step hierarchy for well stoppages, covering responsibility, the affected production-system component, production impact, planning status and two levels of cause. Its first cause level has 20 standardized codes.

The document states that a stoppage alone does not demonstrate deferred or lost production; the impact needs technical support. It sets December 1, 2026 for mandatory use of the new format and structured stoppage matrix. The publication page lists a version 3.2 data dictionary alongside the version 3.1 schema, so the annex labels should be preserved separately. This is a reporting specification, rather than a release of measured well production results.
