Story details

Contango Silver and Gold published a field-season update on 28 October. At Kitsault in British Columbia, the company completed 56,492 metres of drilling in 152 holes, exceeding its original 40,000-metre programme while remaining on budget. The programme ended on 15 October, and assays were still pending.

The company plans to incorporate the drilling into an updated mineral resource estimate in the first half of 2027, followed by an Initial Assessment later that year. Completed drilling metres represent fieldwork, while resource additions and economic conclusions still require laboratory results, interpretation and technical studies.

At Johnson Tract in Alaska, Contango completed a 2.6-mile access road, a portal staging area and a camp pad that had been scheduled for 2027. Underground exploration development is planned for 2027. At Lucky Shot, drilling from the eastern drift began on 22 October, with a second rig scheduled for November.

Rain shortened the third Manh Choh processing campaign, shifting remaining material to the November campaign. Contango now targets the lower end of its annual guidance of 40,000 attributable gold-equivalent ounces, relating to its 30% joint-venture interest. That attributable forecast is distinct from total mine production; higher diesel and reagent use also affect expected unit costs.
