Story details
Coyote Copper Mines released an exploration update on 28 October for Copper Springs in Arizona. The company has expanded its land position to 1,100 claims covering approximately 89.4 square kilometres. New mapping, sampling and geophysical work are intended to refine targets ahead of drilling scheduled around 16 November.
Copper assay results were available for 2,729 of 3,948 collected rock, channel and soil samples. The company reported 396.39 metres of channel sampling across 399 samples. These surface datasets have different purposes and sampling methods; selective samples do not necessarily represent the average grade of the mineralised system.
Induced-polarisation and electromagnetic surveys continue, with preliminary chargeability responses near Santa Ana being compared with mapped geology and surface assays. Chargeability is a geophysical response rather than a direct copper-grade measurement. Additional drilling is needed to test whether surface mineralisation connects with the interpreted features at depth.
The company said approvals cover 37 initial drill locations, each potentially supporting multiple holes, and road construction is progressing. Major Drilling is scheduled to undertake the work. The current technical report contains no current resource or reserve estimate, so permitted drill sites and surface results should not be presented as established mineable inventory.
