Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) is targeting annual economic output of AED54 billion from the events sector by 2033, according to comments reported by WAM on 17 October. Major events hosted by DWTC generated AED25.03 billion in economic output in 2025, compared with AED22.35 billion in 2024, the report said.
The target is supported by the AED10 billion expansion of Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City Dubai. When all phases are complete, the venue is expected to provide 180,000 square metres of indoor space, accommodate up to 65,000 visitors daily and host more than 20 events at once. The 2033 figure is a target, while expansion capacity and timing remain planned.
