Story details

Dubai Customs said trade through the Hatta crossing exceeded AED 37.08 billion in the first half of 2026, up 175% from AED 13.48 billion in the same period of 2025. The authority released the results on 8 September. Loaded-truck movements also increased: 108,811 trucks were recorded, compared with 41,831 a year earlier, a rise of 160.1%.

The report attributes the higher flows to changing regional trade routes and measures to improve customs and logistics operations. More than 919,000 travellers and about 322,000 light vehicles crossed Hatta in the six-month period. Dubai Customs also reported using 7,870 electronic seals on trucks under its Shahin system.
