Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mohamed Farid visited ECPC–Consolis in 10th of Ramadan City on September 21. The plant makes prestressed concrete pipes, segments used in the metro system and other concrete products. Farid called for using existing production capacity and supporting exports and access to new markets.
Managing director Ahmed Serry said the Egyptian–French joint investment had about $20 million in current investment, employed 816 workers and used around 98% local components. He described work on local manufacturing, technology transfer and workforce skills.
