Egypt receives $29.7 billion in remittances in first seven months
The Central Bank of Egypt said remittances from Egyptians working abroad reached about US$29.7 billion from January through July 2026. The total was 28.1% higher than the roughly US$23.2 billion recorded in the same period a year earlier.

In July alone, inflows rose 20% year on year to about US$4.5 billion, compared with around US$3.8 billion in July 2025.
Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk met AIIB President Zou Jiayi on September 7. Egypt said it sought broader cooperation on climate-resilient infrastructure, green transition, regional connectivity and transport.
