The Central Bank of Egypt’s September 7 release put provisional net international reserves at US$57,214.5 million at the end of August 2026. The bank’s earlier release reported US$56,293.9 million at July end, so the August total was about 1.6% higher month to month, calculated from the two published figures.
The comparison uses consecutive month-end stocks and keeps the August value’s provisional status.
Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk met AIIB President Zou Jiayi on September 7. Egypt said it sought broader cooperation on climate-resilient infrastructure, green transition, regional connectivity and transport.
