Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Hussein Issa met Thailand’s Second Deputy House Speaker Lertsak Pattanachaikul and a delegation on September 13. They discussed economic and industrial cooperation, investment, education and ways to increase bilateral trade. Egyptian officials presented the country as a manufacturing and re-export base serving Arab, African and other markets.
The Thai delegation expressed interest in expanding Thai companies’ presence in Egypt. Issa cited trade agreements and transport and energy infrastructure and said the government was ready to facilitate investment in priority sectors.
