Fitch Ratings affirmed Qatar’s Long-Term Issuer Default Ratings at AA with a stable outlook, according to QNA on September 5. Fitch attributed the decision to easing risks after threats to liquefied natural gas facilities subsided. QNA separately noted Qatar’s sovereign assets and net external-creditor position.

Fitch projected a strong rebound as gas exports resume and North Field expansion adds production, with growth reaching double digits by 2028 in its forecast. It also forecast net sovereign foreign assets of about 254.2% of GDP by end-2026.
