Story details

Forrestania Resources announced on 28 October an updated mineral resource estimate for Symes Find in Western Australia. The JORC-compliant estimate comprises 803,600 tonnes grading 1.00 gram of gold per tonne for approximately 25,800 contained ounces, using a 0.5 g/t cut-off. The headline rounded tonnage is 0.8 million tonnes.

The project was acquired from Ramelius Resources in September 2026. At the start of mining in 2023, Ramelius had reported a resource of 1.4 million tonnes at 1.7 g/t for 75,000 ounces using a different 0.6 g/t cut-off. The two estimates therefore reflect different stages of the project and different reporting parameters.

Ramelius mined approximately 0.5 million tonnes at 2.41 g/t for about 42,000 ounces from the Symes open pits in 2024, trucking the material 121 kilometres to the Edna May processing plant. That historical mined quantity is distinct from the remaining mineral resource now reported and should not be added to it as new inventory.

Forrestania describes the deposit as part of its strategy to assemble advanced assets within trucking distance of Edna May, where it is targeting first gold in December 2026. Symes Find lies on granted mining leases approximately 58 kilometres south of Moorine Rock. A remaining resource identifies potential inventory, while future extraction and treatment still depend on mining and economic assessment.
