Story details

Grounded Lithium announced on 28 October that it had filed the Phase 1 pre-feasibility study for the Kindersley Lithium Project. Stantec prepared the report for Grounded and project partner Denison Mines. The document is dated 26 June 2026 and follows results announced on 13 October; the new event is the filing, rather than a newly completed operating project.

The company describes reservoir depths of approximately 900–1,200 metres and modelling over a 25-year production period. The development concept includes reinjection of spent brine to help maintain production. These are reservoir and development assumptions evaluated in the study, rather than a record of 25 years of actual operation.

The first phase covers approximately 13% of the project area. The published economic model reports a net present value of C$125 million at an 8% discount rate and an after-tax internal rate of return of 11%. Modelled value and return are conditional study outputs, not cash already earned.

Potential later phases remain subject to additional evaluation. Financing, approvals, direct lithium extraction technology performance, costs and commodity prices affect implementation. Filing a pre-feasibility report supplies a technical basis for further decisions but does not establish completed construction, commercial commissioning or guaranteed future returns.
