Story details

Halliburton said on September 15 that Eni awarded it a bundled well construction and completions contract for the Cronos development in Block 6 of Cyprus’s Exclusive Economic Zone. The company says the work covers both exploration and development wells. This is an award of services, not confirmation that new wells have already been completed.

The package includes drilling fluids, directional drilling, LOGIX automation and remote operations, cementing, surface well testing and coiled tubing. These services cover different stages of well construction. Bringing them together is intended to reduce operational interfaces and coordinate execution; that benefit is Halliburton’s description of its bundled model.

Halliburton says it will use its established infrastructure and regional capabilities in Cyprus. The company says those resources provide logistical advantages and support reliable execution throughout the campaign. The release gives no contract value, well count or work schedule, so those details cannot be inferred from the award.

The company describes the work in the context of a multi-year ultra-deepwater development and expects its integrated model to support execution. These are forward-looking statements by Halliburton. The announcement does not say Cronos has started production or give a date for first production. The confirmed scope is the award from Eni and the listed service categories.

The bundled approach is intended to coordinate several well-service categories within one development programme. Halliburton says this can reduce operational interfaces and support multi-year execution. Those are the company’s expected benefits; the release provides no performance metric or cost comparison. Use of regional infrastructure is presented as logistical support, not as a Cronos schedule or evidence of completed work.
