Story details

Hycroft Mining Holding Corporation released diamond core assay results from the ongoing phase two exploration drilling program at the Vortex deposit, situated within its wholly owned Hycroft Mine property in northern Nevada. Drill hole H26D-6014 intercepted 82.3 meters grading 428.5 grams per tonne silver and 2.14 grams per tonne gold from a downhole depth of 312 meters, including an exceptional sub-interval of 14.6 meters grading 1,185.0 grams per tonne silver and 6.82 grams per tonne gold. The assay results demonstrate remarkable structural continuity along the eastern flank of the central pit corridor.

The Hycroft Mine encompasses an expansive land package exceeding 64,000 acres in the prolific Basin and Range metallogenic province. Historical open-pit operations focused predominantly on oxidized run-of-mine heap leaching, leaving extensive higher-grade sulfide gold and silver horizons largely untested at depth. The current deep drilling campaign is designed to delineate high-grade feeder systems and structurally controlled boiling zones within the Tertiary epithermal volcanic complex, providing geotechnical and metallurgical data for a prospective underground mining study.

Metallurgical flotation and pressure oxidation tests conducted on Vortex drill core composite samples demonstrated excellent recoveries, exceeding 88 percent for gold and 84 percent for silver into commercial concentrates. The company maintains an unencumbered treasury with 64 million dollars in cash and equivalents, allowing the technical team to expand the 2026 drill schedule from 25,000 meters to 32,000 meters. Four diamond core rigs are currently active on site testing down-plunge extensions and parallel fault offsets.

Corporate leadership emphasized that silver represents a critical dual-use industrial and investment commodity, driven by soaring consumption in photovoltaic solar cells, electrical grid switches, and electric vehicle battery interconnects. The high-grade discoveries at Vortex support the long-term transformation of Hycroft into a premier North American precious metals and critical silver producer. Management stated that an updated mineral resource estimate incorporating all 2026 drilling data is slated for completion in the first quarter of 2027.
