Story details
Lithium Corporation published technical results from its latest phase of hydrological and magnetotelluric geophysical surveys at the Fish Lake Valley lithium-boron-potassium property, situated in Esmeralda County, western Nevada. The property lies in an active tectonic basin approximately 35 kilometers west of Albemarle's Silver Peak lithium brine operation in Clayton Valley. Deep electrical conductivity sounding profiles successfully identified a continuous low-resistivity basement conductor spanning more than eight kilometers of strike length at depths between 200 and 550 meters below valley fill alluvium.
Surface geochemical auger sampling and shallow test hole water sampling along the basin margin returned anomalous lithium concentrations up to 280 milligrams per liter, accompanied by elevated potassium and boron credits. Geothermal temperature gradients measured in thermal test holes indicate elevated subterranean heat flow exceeding 65 degrees Celsius per kilometer, confirming an active convective geothermal regime driven by regional crustal faulting. The thermal characteristics suggest that subterranean brines may be extracted utilizing modern closed-loop direct lithium extraction technologies without requiring extensive surface solar evaporation ponds.
The Fish Lake Valley land position comprises 168 contiguous placer mining claims encompassing roughly 1,360 hectares of federal BLM lands. Lithium Corporation completed an initial environmental baseline study and submitted a Plan of Operations to regulatory authorities to permit a deep four-hole rotary mud exploration drilling campaign targeting the central resistivity anomaly. The drilling program will gather formation water samples under controlled flowback conditions to measure aquifer transmissivity, brine chemistry, and chemical trace element ratios.
Corporate leadership noted that western Nevada remains the epicentre of the United States domestic battery materials ecosystem, anchored by proximity to major lithium gigafactories and established transportation corridors along the US Route 95 corridor. Developing domestic critical mineral deposits that integrate clean geothermal energy with direct chemical extraction aligns directly with national supply chain independence goals. Lithium Corporation confirmed that drill rig mobilization is slated for early spring 2027 following completion of the regulatory review process.
