Story details
The Monetary Authority of Singapore appointed five asset managers to a third batch under its S$6.5 billion Equity Market Development Programme on 29 September. MAS will place S$1.45 billion with Amundi, Franklin Templeton, HSBC Asset Management, M&G Investments and Natixis Investment Managers, taking programme allocations to S$5.4 billion across 14 managers.
MAS also committed S$20 million to a new market-making grant for SGX-listed shares through 31 December 2028. The initial scheme is designed to support liquidity in around 80 eligible small- and mid-cap stocks as well as newly listed shares, with the aim of narrowing bid-ask spreads, lowering execution costs and improving price discovery.
