Story details
Newcore Gold released additional Enchi drilling results on 28 October from the Nyam deposit in Ghana. Hole NBDD093 intersected 2.16 grams per tonne gold over 37.0 metres from 205 metres downhole, including 5.10 grams per tonne over 9.0 metres from 233 metres. The drilling tests fresh mineralisation below the pits used to constrain current mineral reserves.
NBDD094 returned 1.51 grams per tonne over 21.0 metres from 221 metres, while NBDD095A intersected 0.82 grams per tonne over 40.0 metres from 296 metres. The reported lengths are downhole intervals; estimated true widths are 75–85% of those lengths. The deepest vertical testing in this release reached 275 metres, which differs from distance measured along an inclined hole.
The release covers four diamond holes totalling 1,192 metres, all of which intersected gold mineralisation. They form part of an ongoing 80,000-metre programme focused on resource conversion, expansion and discovery. Newcore has reported 51,661 metres in 323 holes from the wider campaign.
These latest results are not incorporated in the existing mineral resource estimate or pre-feasibility study. The company intends to use further drilling in future technical and economic work. Continuity below existing reserve pits suggests an exploration opportunity; conversion into additional resources or reserves still requires formal estimation and assessment.
