First Lady Oluremi Tinubu urged state governors to establish functional community food banks in each senatorial district, with a focus on children under six and pregnant and nursing mothers. She spoke through Vice-President’s wife Nana Shettima at a food distribution in Katsina reported on October 17.
Tinubu said Katsina was the 30th beneficiary of the Renewed Hope Initiative food outreach, following distributions in 29 states and the FCT. She also announced that the nationwide rollout of a National Community Food Bank Programme had been completed. The governor call is a request for state action; no additional state banks were reported as established.
