Gombe Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya said the state intends to extend solar mini-grid projects to 62 additional communities. The announcement came at groundbreaking ceremonies for projects in Kaltungo and Kumo, with Dukku and Bajoga also named for similar work.

The state report says the projects are intended to support households, businesses, health facilities and public institutions. Power Minister Joseph Tegbe said the four named communities were among federal interventions and that residents should expect service within six months. The 62-community expansion is a plan, not completed electrification.
