Story details
Lagos Deputy Governor Kadiri Hamzat announced a five-point food-security strategy at the state’s World Food Day event at Police College, Ikeja. The October 17 Voice of Nigeria report says the approach focuses on technology, partnerships with other states, investment in farmers, reducing post-harvest losses through storage, and affordability, nutrition and sustainability.
The governor’s representative said Lagos would seek higher output on its available land, source efficiently from partner states, process more food locally and reduce waste between farms and households. These are policy priorities; the report does not measure results from the new strategy.
